  ASA’s brief supports a June 28, 2005, decision by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Texas granting Palmetco the right to keep the funds it earned.

Margin is tied to your selling price. It is the difference between the price at which you sell a job and what it costs you to complete it. It is the amount of money left over to cover overhead and deliver profit. On the other hand, mark-up is based on cost. It is your job costs multiplied by a number that allows you to set a price that covers your job costs and overhead and also provides a profit.
